As a Blount county native, my family has been in East Tennessee since 1770’s, so you could say it’s in my blood. Growing up, I played sports in the Alcoa, Maryville and Eagleton areas, so I know how important it is to keep your roots but be involved throughout the communities that make up our home.
Always in love with art, history and form, I joined a company as a photographer and through education, study and training, I earned the prestigious 2008 Pinnacle Award for Photographic Excellence. I moved to the company home office, in 2011, to work in Photographic Development and Education for the sole purpose to help the photographers throughout the company become better at their craft and vocation.
In 2013,with 11 years of experience, East Tennessee called my name and I decided, it was time to come back home…to do what I love most! I opened the Gena Tussey-Station House Photography Studio in downtown Maryville TN. In the fall of 2020 our newest studio has been completed at 306 Memorial Drive, Maryville TN 37803. I am a full service studio that can take care of all your photographic needs from newborn to the golden years. My studio is set up with a variety of physical sets and backgrounds to create any story. There is always something unique to be found in the studio. Our grounds offer a many different outdoor settings. I am also fully equipped for location photography and would love to help you achieve the portraiture you deserve.

I am the only Master Craftsman and Certified Professional Photographer in Blount County through the prestigious Professional Photographers of America as well as a Certified Professional Photographer Liaison though the Professional Photographers of America.
I am a Grand Imaging Award winner for creative open and Grand Imaging finalist for Restoration.
I have won the Silver Award and am a 2 time Bronze award winner in the International Photographic Competition through the Professional Photographers of America
I am an Instructor and speaker within the Professional Photographers of America on a multitude of subjects including lighting, Pet Portraiture, Creative Concepts and the Importance of Preserving the past in Restoration of antique portraits
